Terms of service
Effective Date: July 27,2026 Last Updated: July 27, 2026
Welcome to Red Leaf Moving ("Red Leaf Moving," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website at redleafmoving.ca (the "Website") and any moving, packing, or junk removal services you book with us (the "Services"). By using the Website, requesting a quote, or booking Services, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Website or book our Services.
If we've given you a signed service agreement, order for service, bill of lading, or written quote for your specific move, and something in that document conflicts with these Terms, the signed document takes priority for your move.
1. Who We Are

We do not currently offer storage services or vehicle transport. If your move needs either, let us know and we can point you toward someone who provides it.
3. Quotes & Flat-Rate Pricing
We built Red Leaf Moving around flat-rate, transparent pricing — the price we quote you is the price you pay, with no hidden fees.
Your quote is based on what you tell us about your inventory, pickup and delivery locations, and access conditions (stairs, elevators, parking distance, and so on). As long as that information is accurate and the scope of the job doesn't change on move day, your flat rate holds.
If the actual job turns out to be materially different from what was described — for example, significantly more items than listed, extra stops, limited truck access requiring a shuttle vehicle, or wait times well beyond what's reasonable — we'll flag it and discuss any price adjustment with you before we proceed. You won't be surprised with charges after the fact.
All prices are subject to 5% GST (Alberta has no provincial sales tax) unless we've stated a price as tax-included. GST/HST Registration Number: 714721958RT0001
4. Booking & Payment
No deposit is required to book with us. Payment is due in full on the day of your move, once the Services are complete, unless we've agreed to different terms with you in writing.
We process payments through Square. We accept [credit and debit cards — list any other accepted methods, e.g. e-transfer, cash].
5. Cancellations & Rescheduling
Plans change — we get it. Because we don't collect a deposit, we ask that you give us as much notice as possible if yours do.
48+ hours' notice: Cancel or reschedule at no charge.
Less than 48 hours' notice, or a no-show (our crew arrives and the job can't proceed through no fault of ours): a trip fee may apply to cover the crew and vehicle time we'd reserved for you.
We'll always try to work with you on rescheduling before treating a change as a cancellation.
6. Your Responsibilities
To keep your move running smoothly and on-quote, please:
Give us an accurate picture of what's being moved and any access challenges (stairs, elevators, long carries, parking, building move-in/move-out rules) before move day.
Have everything not being packed by us packed and ready to go, unless you've booked our Packing Services.
Make sure a clear, safe path is available for our crew at both ends of the move.
Have someone 18 or older present at pickup and delivery to answer questions and sign off on the job.
Handle cash, jewelry, important documents, and other small valuables yourself — see Section 7.
Keep pets and children clear of the work area for everyone's safety.
We reserve the right to decline or pause a job if site conditions are unsafe, or if the items or information provided differ materially from what we were told when quoting.
7. Items We Can't Move
For legal and safety reasons, we're not able to transport:
Hazardous materials (propane tanks, gasoline, solvents, paints, aerosols, corrosives, and similar items)
Firearms, ammunition, and explosives
Illegal substances
Perishable food
Live plants and animals (please plan to transport these yourself)
Please also personally transport cash, jewelry, stocks/bonds, passports, and other important documents, along with anything irreplaceable or of significant sentimental value. We can't accept liability for these if they end up in your shipment.
If you have an item of unusually high value — antiques, fine art, high-end electronics, and the like — let us know in writing before move day so we can talk through appropriate handling and coverage.
8. Liability, Insurance & Damage Claims
We take real care with your belongings, but as with any moving company, our standard liability for loss or damage is limited unless additional coverage has been arranged. Unless we've agreed to a higher level of coverage with you in writing, our liability follows the baseline used across the Canadian moving industry: released-value protection of $0.60 per pound ($1.32 per kg) per affected item, based on that item's weight. This is often well below an item's replacement value — ask us about additional valuation coverage, and check whether your home or tenant's insurance covers belongings in transit, since it often doesn't by default.
If something arrives damaged or goes missing:
1. Note it on the paperwork before our crew leaves, if possible.
2. Submit a written claim within 7 days of your move for visible damage, or 30 days for damage discovered after unpacking.
3. We'll review your claim and respond within 14 business days.
We're not responsible for damage to items you packed yourself where the damage results from how they were packed, or for items that weren't disclosed to us as part of the shipment.
9. Delays & Circumstances Beyond Our Control
Weather, road closures, traffic, mechanical issues, building or elevator scheduling conflicts, and similar events outside our reasonable control can occasionally affect timing. We'll do our best to keep you updated and reschedule promptly, but we're not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control.
10. Long-Distance & Interprovincial Moves
For moves that cross into other provinces, additional transit time may apply, and pricing reflects distance, weight, and time as quoted to you in advance. We comply with applicable federal and provincial laws governing the transportation of goods.
Because we don't offer storage, all shipments — including long-distance and interprovincial moves — travel directly from origin to destination with no storage stop in between. Let's talk in advance about scheduling and delivery windows so we can plan your move properly.
11. Junk Removal
For Junk Removal services, you confirm that you own the items being removed (or have the right to dispose of them) and that they don't contain hazardous materials. We dispose of, recycle, or donate removed items responsibly wherever we can. Some items — electronics, appliances containing refrigerants, tires, paint, and similar — may carry disposal fees, which we'll disclose to you before we haul them away.
12. Website Use
By using our Website, you agree to use it only for lawful purposes — no scraping, no attempting to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to it, and no misuse of our forms or booking tools.
Content on the Website — including text, images, and our logo — belongs to Red Leaf Moving or our licensors and can't be copied or reused without our permission.
Information on the Website, including any online pricing estimates, is provided for general informational purposes and isn't a binding quote.
A binding flat-rate quote is one we've confirmed with you directly, by phone, email, or in writing.
Our Website may link to third-party sites we don't control, and we're not responsible for their content or practices.
Submitting a quote request or booking form doesn't guarantee an appointment — bookings are confirmed once we've communicated a confirmed date and time with you.
13. Photos & Marketing
We may take before/after photos of items or spaces for our own records, quality assurance, and marketing (our website, social media, and similar). If you'd rather we didn't use your photos for marketing, just let us know at booking or any time before your move, and we'll leave you out of it.
14. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
The Website and its content are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Red Leaf Moving isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Website, beyond the liability for the Services set out in Section 8.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any rights or remedies you have under Alberta's Consumer Protection Act or other applicable law that can't be waived by agreement.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Red Leaf Moving harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Website or Services.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Alberta. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Alberta.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect once posted to this page. We'd encourage you to check back periodically — continuing to use our Website or Services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
18. Severability & Entire Agreement
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in full effect. These Terms, together with any signed quote or service agreement for your specific move, make up the entire agreement between you and Red Leaf Moving regarding the Services.
