Privacy policy

Red Leaf Moving ("we", "us") is a trade name of Artur Chuyashov, a sole proprietor in Edmonton, Alberta, serving Edmonton and the surrounding area. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, by phone, text and email, and while doing your move, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We follow Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, for moves that cross provincial lines, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

• Contact details you give us: name, phone number, email address and billing address.
• Move details: addresses, dates, inventory, access notes and any photos you send us.
• Records of your job: estimates, signed agreements, job tickets, invoices and payment confirmations.
• Messages, call notes and texts between you and us.
• Referral details: your name and contact details if you refer someone, and the name of the person who referred you.

Why we use it

To quote, schedule, perform and invoice your move, contact you about it, handle any damage claim, run our referral program, and keep the tax and business records the law requires. We don't use it for anything else, and we don't sell it.

Who we share it with

• Our crew and any movers working on your move, only as needed to do the job.
• Service providers we use to run the business: FormSubmit (delivers website form requests to our email), Google Workspace (email and files), and Square (card payments). Card details are handled by Square, not stored by us, unless you sign a credit card authorization form.
• Our insurer or broker if there's a claim, and authorities when the law requires it.

Where your information is stored

Some of our service providers, including Google, Square and FormSubmit, may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it's there, it's subject to the laws of that country and may be accessed by its authorities under lawful process.

Referrals

If you refer someone, we use your name and contact details, and theirs, only to check the referral, apply their discount and pay your reward. We may tell you that your referral booked and finished a move, but we won't share their addresses, inventory or invoice with you. Please only send us the details of someone who has agreed to be contacted.

Photos

We may photograph items and rooms for our job records and claims. We won't use photos of your home or belongings in advertising without your written consent.

This website

This site doesn't use analytics, tracking or advertising cookies. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to deliver them. When you send a form, what you enter is sent to our inbox through FormSubmit. If you close the No-Surprise Promise box, your browser remembers that choice in its own storage on your device. Nothing personal is stored, and we can't see it.

How long we keep it

We keep job records for as long as we need them for the move, any claim, and our tax obligations, which is generally six years. Quote requests that never became a job are kept for a reasonable time in case you get back in touch, and deleted sooner if you ask.

How we protect it

Access to our email, files and payment systems is limited to the people who need it, our accounts are password protected, and card numbers are handled by Square, not by us. No system is perfectly secure, but we take the care that fits a small business handling this kind of information.

Your choices and rights

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw consent to anything optional, or ask us to delete what we aren't required to keep. Email info@redleafmoving.ca or call (780) 938-7831, and we'll respond within 30 days.

If you aren't satisfied with how we handled your request, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta at oipc.ab.ca, or, for moves between provinces, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

Children

Our services and this website are meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when our practices or the law change, and change the date at the top.
